WASHINGTON, Sept 29 (Reuters) – Common Motors Chief Govt Mary Barra on Wednesday was named chair of the Enterprise Roundtable, the automaker confirmed, making her the primary girl to steer the influential group of U.S. enterprise leaders.
Barra, who has headed the most important U.S. automaker since 2014, was elected by fellow CEOs to succeed Doug McMillon, president and CEO of Walmart, who has chaired the Enterprise Roundtable since January 2020.
The Enterprise Roundtable, based in 1972, contains different well-known enterprise executives akin to Apple CEO Tim Cook dinner and JPMorgan Chase & Co CEO Jamie Dimon. Members collectively lead firms with 20 million workers and greater than $9 trillion in annual revenues, in response to the group.
Barra will serve a two-year-term at a time when companies face main points in Washington, together with proposals in Congress to hike company taxes and new environmental laws.
The group has taken positions on a lot of points, together with backing a $1.2 trillion infrastructure invoice in addition to policing and immigration reforms.
